Bartow City Commissioners Monday reached a consensus to change the scope of the executive director’s job of the Community Redevelopment Agency. They want that person to work for the city manager in order to make it more accountable to the city and be able to walk more in step with the city’s strategic plan.

Previous CRA Executive Director Patrick Brett was fired by the CRA board on July 2 on a 4-2 vote without cause, but the reason cited was a lack of improving the relationship between the board and the city commission in the year Brett had the job.
