While his cousin was going through a photo album in his hometown in Union, Ga., J.J. Swearingin came across an almost 100-year-old picture of T. Allis and Julia Goode and sent it to R.K. Smith, who remembers the married couple when they were Bartow residents.

“He was quite peculiar in the way he dressed,” Smith remembers the couple who lived here in the 1930s. “You could see him almost every day walking down Main Street wearing a top hat.”
