A long-range community design plan for east Bartow was given the go-ahead Wednesday as the Community Redevelopment Agency voted to allow a University of South Florida professor to undertake a study of the area and come up with a plan.

Professor Trent Green, from the USF’s School of Architecture and Community Design, made his proposal to the board, in which he and a team of graduate students would not only study the area but also include their input, the CRA’s input and come up with a framework for decision making and new development, he said.
