Joseph MacKenly will give you a fright almost as soon as you walk in on the Haunted Jail Tour at the old Polk County Jail. The jail tour continues this weekend 6-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and the $5 admission benefits the United Way of Central Florida.
Originally put at its site at 455 N. Broadway in the 1940s the no longer used Polk County Jail is somewhere to take the kids – and yourself – to sort of see it this weekend and get scared at the same time.
The Haunted Jail Tours kicked off last weekend and continues this weekend where from 6-11 p.m. people will go through the haunted house set up there on Friday and Saturday. However, this is no ordinary haunted house.
