Bartow residents lined up Saturday, Oct. 27 to take vote early this past Saturday, Oct. 27. According to those who arrived, the line moved fast and waiting time was not too long.
Every vote counts, and the importance of your individual vote can’t be stressed enough. Many times you’ve read or heard how one single vote made the difference. One such time occurred in the community of Bartow back in 1882.
The Civil War ended in 1865 and what followed were 11 years of radical reconstruction government in Florida. Polk County was still very much a wilderness experiencing slow growth in both population and businesses.
