DeDecker’s resignation
a surprise
Troy DeDecker
Bartow Regional Medical Center CEO Troy DeDecker announced at the hospital board meeting of Thursday, Dec. 20, that he was resigning. He will remain until Jan. 11. Afterward, he and his family will return to Kansas City.
According to board members Brian Hinton and Lea Ann Thomas, DeDecker’s decision to resign had nothing to do with either a recent “60 Minutes” segment about BRMC parent corporation, Naples-based Health Management Associates, or comments exchanged in internal emails between DeDecker and his contemporary at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Elaine Thompson, related to the broadcast. The segment focused on allegations made by former HMA employees about billings and admission practices.
