Dixie Shivler was honored with a retirement reception January 4 at the Church Service Center, where she has worked for 12 years; nine as the CSC executive director. The pink roses beside Dixie were given her by the staff, and she also will have a plaque in her honor installed at the CSC.

Dixie Shivler, who has been at the helm of the church service center since 2003, is embarking on a well-deserved retirement. She leaves behind many good works and a lot of grateful people.
At a reception in her honor Jan. 4, friends, volunteers, board members and staff paid tribute to the smiling, kindly person who has helped make life better for those crossing the threshold, seeking help.
