Winnie B. Moody, 83, of Lakeland, passed away at St. Petersburg General Hospital on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012.

Ms. Moody was born in Bartow on April 17, 1929, and moved to Lakeland from Miami in the early 1980s. She formerly lived in Fort Meade for many years and was a retired telephone supervisor with Southern Bell Telephone. Ms. Moody also worked at the Polk County Courthouse as a receptionist, and was a graduate of Summerlin Institute in Bartow.

Ms. Moody is survived by her sons, Dennis Moody and wife Eilleen of Fort Meade, Buddy Moody and wife Diane of St. Petersburg; a brother, Jim Bradford of Smyrna, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, at Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
