Carol A. Osgood, 73, passed away from respiratory failure Thursday,
Jan. 17, 2013, in Lakeland.

Born July 22, 1939, in Tampa, she was a lifelong resident of Bartow.

Mrs. Osgood was a charge nurse for both Bartow Memorial Hospital and Lakeland Regional Medical Center serving in the Labor and Delivery Unit for many years.

She was also a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bartow.

Mrs. Osgood is survived by a loving family that includes her husband, David Osgood, of Bartow; two sons, David Byrd (Melissa) of Lakeland, Jonathan Byrd (Shannon) of Bartow; a daughter Susan Underwood of Indian Rocks Beach; a grandson, Charles Sloan; and two cousins, Janice Blum and Cecil Peek.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 18, from 6-8 p.m. at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.

Funeral services will follow Saturday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bartow, 410 E. Church St., Bartow.
