An arrest has been made in the 19-year-old cold case of Jahala Watson, a Mulberry resident who disappeared June 20, 1993. Watson was seven months pregnant at the time. Her son Christopher Shane Knight, now 39, has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter, charged in both the stabbing death of his mother and of her unborn child. The arrest was made through the joint efforts of the Polk County and Sumter County Sheriff’s offices, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and the State of Florida’s Office of State wide Prosecution, Nicholas Cox, prosecutor. Knight was booked into the Polk County Jail.
