City officials will hold the first of two public hearing on its proposed 2012-13 budget which is projected to raise the local tax rate by 69 percent.

The hearing will be combined with a regular commission meeting, which are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month. Tonight’s commission meeting will start at 6 p.m. The budget hearing is the eighth item on the agenda, after the public forum which allows residents to speak to the commission on matters not of the regular agenda.
