Barbara E. Terrell, 85, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at a long-term nursing home in Wellesley, Mass.

Born July 26, 1926 , in Kingston, Tenn., Mrs. Terrell was a longtime resident of Bartow, moving to Massachusetts in 2008. She was best known as a school teacher, having taught for more than 25 years in Tennessee, Michigan, and Bartow schools. She was also known for her piano playing and teaching Sunday school at Northside Baptist, then as a member of First Baptist Church of Bartow.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Terrell.

Mrs. Terrell is survived by two daughters, Carole Lacy-Carella of Bedford, Mass., and Karen Schoelles of Ambler, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 27, from 10-11 a.m., at Whidden-McLean Funeral Home, Bartow.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m.
at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bartow Wildwood Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at First Baptist Church of Bartow.
