Battle over sand mine, cement plant continues
The battle over whether a sand mine and a cement plant will be constructed and allowed to operate for 10 years on residentially zoned property in Davenport between the High Vista community on U.S. 27 in Ridgewood Lakes and Oak Haven Estates on County Road 547 continues unabated.
JML Land Developmentās contractor, Bishop & Buttrey, Inc., is in the early stages of implementing the sand mine and cement plant project. On May 4, B&B began to clear land and remove sand from the site. It is doing so in the face of a pending lawsuit to stop both the mine and the plant.
