After just less than a year on the job, the executive director of the Highlands County Economic Development Commission and Industrial Development Authority was fired Monday morning.

Kristina Anderson said she was fired from her dual EDC/IDA position just 20 days after receiving a positive performance evaluation and a $7,500 raise that brought her salary to $65,000 per year.
