The Town of Lake Placid has made a $1.2 million offer on the former Lake Placid Church of Christ complex on U.S. 27, just north of town.
The Town of Lake Placid has agreed to make a $1.2 million offer on a foreclosed church complex that could serve as the new town hall. But, it was noted, the property is outside the current town limits.
Located at 1069 US 27 North, the building, and its 14.5 acre site, was appraised in August of 2011 at $2.4 million by Polk Appraisals of Sebring. Highlands Independent Bank, the current owner of the former Lake Placid Church of Christ property, is asking $2.2 million.
