Lake Placid adopts recreation user fees
The Town Council in Lake Placid passed a resolution last week to set fees needed to supplement the care and maintenance of parks and recreational areas. The fees became effective immediately after the vote, but the council made a second motion to exclude the 2012 Caladium Festival.
The rate schedule was reviewed by the town’s Recreation Committee and now appears to be headed back to town council for clarification. Recreation Committee members said at a meeting this week the user fee should be “per year” and not “per season.” They also questioned a $28 per hour charge for use of lights.
