Space was limited since the speech was in the library, but a few visitors who referred to themselves as "McCullough groupies" were in attendance. Who would have thought that the letters “McC” would lead to a lifetime friendship? That’s how Mountain Lake resident Tom McCance became close friends with author David McCullough. The two were thrown together a lot during their time at Yale University, because both their names started
with McC. They were alphabetically predestined.
