Lake Wales employees could be taking more time off next year — whether they want to or not — if furlough days are implemented as a way to make up for decrease in revenue.

In the proposed budget for 2012-13, City Manager Terry Leary has suggested 80 hours of furloughs, which are employer-mandated unpaid days off, be taken.
