Where are Vanguard’s flags?
The Vanguard School is known for its wall of international flags, a Lake Wales landmark. Over the summer months, the flags have been taken down. The flags were weather-worn after Tropical Storm Debbie, and school officials have ordered new flags which will be flown in coming weeks as the normal school year begins. “We are very proud of our international community, and take great care to represent our students’ home nations with our proud display of flags along the wall facing U.S. 27. We look forward to posting all our students’ ‘native colors’ in the near future on our wall of flags,” said John Davis, communications coordinator for the school.
