Attention! Do you know the proper way to fold the American flag? The significance of the 13 folds do not symbolize the original 13 colonies, as members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Lake Wales Chapter, learned during a recent demonstration by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

With great honor and care, VFW Post 4289 Honor Guard Captain Jim Erickson, and Ed Cameron, Lake Wales VFW Post 2420, folded the flag while Lou Kovak, VFW Post 4289 chaplain, described the ceremony that’s often conducted on Veterans Day and other special holidays as well as ceremonies retiring flags.
