Pallet fire at packing house

Smoke could be seen for miles from the Dundee Packing House fire.
The plume of smoke that could be seen for miles around Friday came from the Dundee Citrus Growers packing house on Scenic Highway in Lake Hamilton.
There were no injuries, but a yard truck and a semi-trailer were destroyed. Polk County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Michael Way said the fire started in the pallets that are made of plastic. When cracks occur in the pallets, they are patched. The material that is used was hot and that is how the fire started, Way said.
