Battle of the Bulge medic: ‘I’m proud of it’

PFC Elmer Rensi, Ret. war veteran served as a corps medic during the Battle of the Bulge. He spoke at Thursday's Breakfast Rotary meeting, held at Lake Wales Country Club, highlighting his war experience and showing a few relics that he left packed for about 60 years, until donating them to the Lake Wales Depot Museum.

“We saved a lot of lives, I’m telling you, and I’m proud of it. We never pulled a trigger in the whole war, but I’m still proud of being a medic,” said the 91-year-old U.S. Army PFC Elmer Rensi (Ret.) at Thursday’s meeting of the Breakfast Rotary Club.

Illuminated by the sun streaming through the Lake Wales Country Club arched windows, the honorable veteran shared his memories.
