There were no survivors in this crash that was on east State Road 60, Wednesday morning. A large stretch of the highway was closed in both directions for much of the day, opening one lane each way around 2:30 p.m. Resurfacing work will have to take place, according to the PCSO, as the fire burned the asphalt on the road.

Polk County Sheriff's Office detectives recorded the scene via camera and video camera, taking measurements and gathering other information after the tragic accident.

Traffic backed up in two places along State Road 60 - at the diversion route, which ran down Walk-in-Water Rd. to the County Road 630 intersection, and at a road near Walmart, where deputies were helping those trying to turn left to clear the other oncoming lanes.
