Strategic planning on track for the district
The Polk County school district is looking toward the future and it’s goals, as they begin a process called strategic planning.
The process, which will be done over a six-month period, kicked off with discussion of a new mission statement. District officials sent out a survey to school and district office employees, community members and parents asking them to choose among a selection of mission statements. In all, 1,875 people responded, according to a presentation Tuesday by Wilma Ferrer, Senior Director of Assessment, Accountability and Evaluation.
