Polk County is beginning to garner a reputation as a place for business, an economic development official claimed during a meeting in Lake Wales Friday.
Lakeland is ranked 173 in the Forbes top 200 Metropolitan Statistical Areas for businesses and careers, Gainesville is ranked 101, Tampa/St. Petersburg is 111 and Orlando, 119.
