Orlando Jones scored the winning touchdown — with the help of a penalty— with less than a minute to go in the game and rallied for a 20-17 victory over Lake Wales last Friday night in the regular football season opener. A pass interference penalty on Lake Wales on fourth down gave Jones an extra play and the Tigers took advantage by scoring the winning touchdown on the next play.Tony Reeves caught a touchdown pass from Railond Garrett and Tate Mathewson kicked a field goal to account for Lake Wales’s points. The Highlanders, who are 0-1, were hurt by three turnovers in the game.
Lake Wales hosts Lake Gibson this Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
