Soccer season heats up
Warner University soccer is back at it again, this past Wednesday the Royals took on the Webber Warriors in a non-conference match up. The Royals battled the Warriors through two halves, a 30 minute game delay, and two 10 minute overtime games. The Royals were tied with Webber the entire game; however things changed in double overtime when Webber Warrior Vincente Munoz kicked the winning goal to win the game (1-0). The Royals put up a good fight with outstanding blocks from goal keeper Leo Viola and great defense on the Royals end.
Continuing with soccer news, Lake Wales SC U17 Boys recently traveled to Port Charlotte to compete against Charlotte County SC in their opening game of the season. Spencer Maldonado had nine (9) saves with an additional save from Lamar Bobb and Andrew Mulville. Lake Wales Fury had over twenty shots to the goal. Despite the team’s hard effort, the game ended in a loss for Lake Wales Fury (0-4.). Team participants include: Austin Arnold, Juan Bautista, Lamar Bobb, Edgar Gallardo, Manny Hernandez, Spencer Maldonado, Andrew Mauville, Tyler McKenzie, Miguel Mejia, Alan Mendoza, Alex Montes, Rolando Perez, Jose Renteria, Arnulfo Santibanez, and Luis Serrano.
