Lake Wales girl’s golf team hit the green this past Thursday taking on Avon Park in their first home game of the season. Lake Wales conquered their opponents by 227 points. Team participants and stats include: Merdith McKeena-(42), Rachel Roberts Nonye-(56), Haley Nolen-(62), Estephany Arenas Revelo-(67), and Heather Jackson-(77). Meredith McKenna’s 9 hole average is now at 45. The Highlanders are coached by Blake Fann of Lake Wales High School.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Many sports teams are joining in the spirit and wearing pink uniforms to support the men and women who have survived breast cancer. Get involved, and support both your favorite sports team and a great cause by wearing pink this month.
