Highlanders win over Haines City a good one
It was a reason to celebrate when the Highlanders won their Homecoming game against the Haines City Hornets last week.
Lake Wales received the opening kick-off while Jonte Sergeant set the tone in the Highlanders’ opening drive by running for a first-down on the first play of the game. This would begin a Lake Wales running attack that would give the team the field position necessary to provide the Highlanders with their first ouch-down on the evening. Railond Garrett connected with Ezekiel Hayes from 27-yards out for the touch-down. Tate Mathewson demonstrated his consistency this season, in routine fashion splitting the uprights for the extra-point. Highlanders got on the board first and the score was 7-0, Lake Wales.
