Preparation and attention to details are those things for which the Chalet has gained an extensive following. The Lake Wales Area Chamber of Commerce held their Tuesday evening business after hours at Chalet Suzanne, in honor of the resort's 81st birthday.

Not everyone stayed inside for the Business After Hours. A few people meandered outside, finding a comfortable seat away from the bustle, nestled next to the wrought iron gates which line the walkway.

The Chalet seemed it would burst at the seams as people from the Lake Wales Area Chamber of Commerce packed the house in honor of Chalet Suzanne’s 81st Birthday Celebration held during the Chamber’s most recent Tuesday night Business After Hours. The warm after-hours crowd enjoyed drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and birthday cake in honor of the occasion. Dee and Eric Hinshaw, owners of the Chalet, welcomed the Chamber guests, noting that the Chalet heavily supports the local economy and has many meals that are not priced at typical resort prices. New Chamber members were honored and announcements were made of various upcoming community events. The Hinshaws then led the group in a chorus of “Happy Birthday” and lit the candles on the birthday cake.
