DiVosta still leads in residential permits issued

NORTH PORT — For the third straight month, DiVosta Homes L.P. is the leader in residential permits issued from the city, receiving eight of 10 in May, with a total value of $1,916,462.
Since January, DiVosta Homes has been awarded 42 permits with a total value of $9,953,627. Pulte Home Corp. is listed as contractor for all the projects.
Only two other permits were issued in May. One went to Adam Homes of N.W. Florida Inc., also named as contractor, for a single-family residence at 5266 Wagon Wheel Drive valued at $283,765.
The second permit went to Viktor Simontchik, Elena Simonclink contractor, for a single-family residence on 4695 Hansard Ave. valued at $271,796.
One commercial permit, with a value of $18,000, was issued in April to Benderson Development Co. LLC for a remodel at 17213 Tamiami Trail.
With the exception of one site, 19169 Kirella St., the DiVosta projects are on Jalisca Street.
DiVosta’s actions follow unanimous approvals in March and February by the North Port City Commission of petitions requesting replatting of the previously approved Islandwalk Phase 1C subdivision.
The replatting of the almost 13-acre Jalisca Street site, off Tantino Drive, would decrease the lots on the street from 65 to 59, according to the city staff. However, the benefit to DiVosta is its ability to introduce new single-family models for the section.
DiVosta’s second replatting, similar to Jalisca Street, is for approximately 38 acres and includes Lappacio, Navarro and Mangieri streets. In this area, the number of lots will be decreased from 266 to 251.
In February, DiVosta Homes received a permit for the city’s largest project to date — a $1,725,983 multipurpose clubhouse at 13605 Tantino Drive with Pulte as contractor. DiVosta also has Pulte constructing a pool and cabana at 13621 Tantino Drive valued at $66,550.
