UPDATE: CCSO deputies are rerouting northbound S.R. 31 traffic to the west on Bermont Road to U.S. 17, then north into Arcadia. DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office are blocking traffic as far back as they can in the Arcadia area. CCSO deputies on scene advise there is a traffic fatality.

EARLIER: The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is on scene of a semi that has rolled over on a small SUV on S.R. 31, about a mile north of Bermont Road. All lanes of traffic are blocked at this time in the eastern part of the county. CCSO received the call at 2:33 p.m. Charlotte County Fire/EMS is also on scene.
