Harbor ecology wins in footrace

CHARLOTTE HARBOR — As they trekked across the A.W. Gilchrist Bridge over the Peace River Saturday morning, some 300 bicyclists, runners and walkers were treated to a breathtaking view of Charlotte Harbor.

And the knowledge that their trek would help preserve that gift made the journey even more enjoyable, participants said.
