SARASOTA COUNTY — The cities of North Port and Venice will
have to jump through bureaucratic hoops before current and future businesses there can become eligible to receive financial incentives through the county’s proposed Energy Economic Zone pilot program.

That’s because
unlike the city of Sarasota, North Port and Venice do not have defined urban service areas, densely populated areas where infrastructure (roads, water and sewer) and services (police and fire) are available, as defined by the state.
