Claiborne Young cites Washington, N.C. as an example of a town that recreated itself as a boating destination, during a talk at a community workshop in Punta Gorda Friday.
PUNTA GORDA — To
establish this city as a destination for wayfaring boaters: keep anchorage regulations to a minimum; build showers, a laundromat and a dinghy dock; and preserve the attractive character of downtown, yachting expert Claiborne Young told a group of residents at a community workshop Friday.
“The number one thing you need is to promote your waterfront community more,” Young said.
