Cultural Center recognizes volunteer
The Cultural Center of Charlotte County named Mary Joy Donovan as its Volunteer of the Year at the end of the fiscal year volunteer breakfast Tuesday at the Cultural Center.
In 2009, Donovan began her career as a volunteer at the Cultural Center as a way to give back to her new community. She works in both the volunteer office as editor of the Volunteer Newsletter and the Learning Place as an administrative assistant to the education director. She also helps in any area around the center that needs help, and has a can-do attitude. She appreciates the friendships she has made with the staff and volunteers, and welcomes new volunteers to enjoy themselves in the fun.
Donovan is a native of New York City and moved to Bradenton in 1985. She moved to Port Charlotte in 2008 and found a home near the Cultural Center.
If you are thinking about becoming a volunteer, we would love to have you join us here at the Cultural Center. Please contact the volunteer office at 941-625-4175, ext. 246, or stop by the next time you are at the Cultural Center. The volunteer office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
