Holly Harris of the Charlotte County NAACP, second from left, and her niece, Trinity Carter, kneeling, left, pose with Charlotte State Bank & Trust staff members while collecting school supplies for the annual Fill-a-Backpack program. The bank’s Punta Gorda and Charlotte Harbor offices collected supplies for the event, which took place Saturday at Bayshore Live Oak Park in Charlotte Harbor. Holly said the event was “excellent,” with 310 backpacks full of school supplies distributed to students in need. “We ran out of backpacks,” she said, “and gave out 30 more sets of supplies in paper bags.” Joining Holly and Trinity for the supply pickup at the Charlotte Harbor office are, from left, branch manager Kim Maddy, Kristin Henry, Janelle Andou, Eric DeYoung, Tiana Cozzette, and Sury Duque.
