SARASOTA COUNTY — Sarasota County Health and Human Services announced Friday that Eric Schreiber, who has managed county Mosquito Management Services for the last three years, has resigned. A reason was not given.

“I’m very proud of our mosquito control program and the job Eric has done to make it one of the best in the state,” Chuck Henry, county Health and Human Services director, said in a statement. “The collaboration between mosquito control and Health and Human Services staff is exceptional and results in our community being well-educated, informed and protected.” Mosquito Management is a service of the county Health Department’s Environmental Health division. Effective immediately, Mosquito Management operations will be supervised by Matt Osterhoudt of county Natural Resources. Certified Mosquito Management staff will continue current operations and the community will see no interruption in service, officials said.
