Red tide found in area
ENGLEWOOD — Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials say red tide algae is showing up in Sarasota County and Englewood waters.
“So far this week, alongshore of Sarasota County ranging from background to low concentrations, with the highest levels detected at Blind Pass,” a FWC report for Sept. 1 2 stated. No red tide was found in samples from Charlotte County waters, but two samples off Pine Island in Lee County showed background levels of the algae.
