SARASOTA — Frustrated doesn’t begin to explain how Assistant State Attorney Karen Fraivillig says she and her colleagues feel the day after a mistrial was declared in the John Allen Lee double murder trial.
“It’s like we are starting again from square one,” she said of the trial, which was set to begin Tuesday, and was expected to last for two weeks. “It’s a murder trial, it’s a big deal. For every hour we spend in court, we spend 10 more working on the case. Both my colleagues and (Lee’s attorney) Carolyn Schlemmer have invested a lot of time preparing.”
