PUNTA GORDA — An undercover Charlotte County Sheriff’s detective arranged to purchase some cocaine from one suspected dealer and wound up arresting another — 38-year-old local restaurateur Johnny Ramone Lloyd — when he showed up instead to deliver the drugs Thursday, according to a sheriff’s report.
The arrest delivered a second punch of adverse publicity to Big John and Lloyd Boys Barbecue, 502 King St., which Lloyd co-owns with his brother, 35-year-old Marcus Dontell Lloyd, and their father, 68-year-old John Lloyd. The first blow came Aug. 22 when Marcus was arrested in Jupiter, Fla., in connection with a string of bank robberies.
