ARCADIA — The third Friday of September is nationally designated as POW/MIA Recognition Day. To honor those who were prisoners of war or missing in action, and as a symbol that they are not forgotten, the city of Arcadia hoisted a POW/MIA flag on the flagpole in front of City Hall on Friday morning.
Don Finkle of the DeSoto County Veterans Council provided the flag and offered remarks before a small gathering of city employees and local residents.
