The cast and crew of "Catch of the Day" answer questions following the debut of their film.
PUNTA GORDA — Customers entering Antar’s Food Mart in Punta Gorda on June 3, may have been shocked to see a robber demanding cash as he held a gun to an elderly woman’s head, but this wasn’t your average holdup; it was the filming of the short film “Catch of the Day” — an action/comedy produced by local producer/director/writer Jon Rubin.
“Catch of the Day” competed in the cellphone-shot film category of the Peace River Film Festival at Edison State College on Sunday. Although the Italian film “Le Tette di Una Diciottenne,” the only other cell-shot film in the competition, took home the award, “Catch of the Day” managed to get applause and giggles from the crowd.
