Five Charlotte County students at various grade levels managed to earn perfect scores in both the reading and math sections of the FCAT test in 2012, after a “shaky” year of implementing a new, more difficult test, according to district officials.
“These are very challenging tests. In order to get a perfect score they have to answer questions that are several grade levels above the one they are currently in,” said Superintendent Doug Whittaker.
