Teams hope to avoid letdown

By Monday, Charlotte High School had a weekend to digest an emotional 24-21 victory over Venice. North Port had the same time span to think about its school-record second shutout of the season.
DeSoto County players had the weekend to consider a narrow 9-7 loss to No. 1 Palmetto and whether it was a historic victory that got away.
