SARASOTA COUNTY — The North Port Family Service Center will be able to continue helping the area’s less fortunate at its current staff levels after the Sarasota County Commission on Tuesday approved the contract to renew a $52,800 Community Development Block Grant.

“What it does is provide us with additional staff, so that staff can help more families,” said North Port Social Services Manager Zulma Solero, whose department oversees the NPFSC.
