NORTH PORT — Former North Port City Commissioner Vanessa Carusone was recently approved by the Sarasota County Commission to take a seat on the county’s Planning Commission, replacing Dr. Chris King of Englewood, who moved out of the area.

Carusone will complete King’s current term, ending in December, then serve a full term of her own.
