SOUTH GULF COVE — A Charlotte County Sheriff’s detective arrested an Englewood man for selling stolen gold jewelry items taken during a burglary of a South Gulf Cove home. Arrested for dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership to a pawnbroker was Joshua Mark Frink, 23, Perry Street, Englewood. On Sept. 25, CCSO received a call concerning a burglary to a home in the 8800 block of Claumet Boulevard. A window was broken to gain entry. Missing was a $7,700 diamond engagement ring, a Gulf Coast University class ring, and two gold lobster and crab charms. The detectives located all four of the stolen items at Gold Pro’s in the Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. They were sold by Frink the same day as the burglary occurred. Gold Pro’s provided a copy of Frink’s photo identification and his thumb print, verifying he was the rightful owner of the jewelry he was selling. An open probable cause affidavit was on file as Frink could not be located.

Monday at 11:22 p.m., a road deputy made a traffic stop on a 2012 Dodge car with the tag light out. The driver was Frink, and a check with CCSO communications revealed Frink had the open PCA for his arrest. He was arrested and taken to the Charlotte County Jail. This is Frink’s third booking into the Charlotte County jail; however, due to his previous criminal history, he is being held on $65,000 bond. The investigation continues. Frink has not been charged with burglary to the home.
