In her attempt to become the next superintendent of the School District of DeSoto County, Karyn Gary questions whether the county is “satisfied with being No. 64 of 67 counties in Florida education.”

The charge concealed in that question relates to DeSoto School District students’ performance on the recent FCAT and the “C” grade for DeSoto High School. She feels she has workable ideas that could change both statistics.
