PUNTA GORDA — Jay Buckley, secretary of the Punta Gorda Boaters Alliance, has been urging the city to purchase a sewage pump-out boat to service boats anchoring along the its coastline for at least the last five years.

Time after time, the City Council postponed the purchase, ­choosing to wait until there’s enough boaters anchoring in the area to warrant the expenditure.
